Decote Dance's core focus is to encourage children and young people to move through dance and exercise.
We believe in making dance accessible to all, whether this be working towards taking dance examinations, taking part in performances and auditions or just taking weekly classes for fun and health benefits.
Our aim is to deliver a fun, informal learning environment, whereby the students have the opportunity to express themselves through several dance styles, build confidence, self-esteem, learn to work in a team and make new friends. We also aim to deliver these sessions at a reasonable cost thereby making our classes affordable across the community.
Apart from the health benefits people of all ages get from exercise, it’s also an opportunity to meet up with friends or make new ones, it can provide a fun break from the stresses of school and exams, and it can give you a real sense of achievement – you never know, you might discover a talent you never knew you had.
The study of dance is proven to provide numerous physical and psychological benefits. These include strength, posture, poise, confidence, enhanced concentration skills and social skills. All of these skills can be transferred to everyday life as well as in the studio. The school offers a number of dance classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Freestyle, Musical Theatre and Singing within the IDTA syllabus framework as well as non-syllabus dance classes including Junior Funk, Contemporary and Commercial along with pre-school classes in ballet.
